David Robert Hill has been a passionate and dedicated painter for over 40 years. A graduate of the Julian Ashton School, Sydney (1972), his has been a voyage of discovery and his work has taken many exploratory turns over the years.

His paintings have been described as celebratory and musical. He has held exhibitions in Sydney and London and is represented in collections in Australia and overseas.

David has taught expressive oil painting at Camp Creative seminars and also at Mitchell CAE (now CSU).

David lives and works in the upper Blue Mountains  where he has been part of the creative community since 1980.

His writings on painting have been published in the Australian Artist, Oz Arts and most recently, the Artist's Palette (Aug 2008).

He co-authored the art and poetry book Gallimaufry, published in 2005. which features nearly 200 of his works. View pages of Gallimaufry here.
