Her art practice reflects a desire to know the landscape, to explore her sense of placement and belonging in the natural environment.

Marianne works across media, with textile, installation, fibre construction and ceramics. She has worked with site specific installation and constructed objects with natural materials.

Her work has explored concepts of stitching the land as a metaphor for healing, using the written word and continuous lines of stitching within the textile medium, where the repetitive nature of stitching and writing is a means of connecting with spirit of place.

Her primary concern is the search for a deeper spiritual sense of belonging to the Australian landscape.

Marianne has exhibited extensively within Western Australia and interstate, most recently at Fremantle Arts Centre and Caloundra Regional Gallery.
